The MS1850 and MS1950 Deadlocks provide security for narrow stile leaf doors. The MS1850 locks are made of steel while the MS1950 locks are made of stainless steel. This makes the MS1950 locks ideal for use in outdoor locations, where chances of corrosion are high. Both the locks have a huge 3"" laminated stainless steel bolt (straight bolt) which is activated by an uncomplicated pivot mechanism. The length of the bolt provides security for single leaf doors, including very tall ones and for those doors where the gap between the door and the jamb is larger than it should be.
Operating the lock is as simple as turning the key or thumbturn 360 degrees which will throw or retract the counterbalanced bolt. The key can be removed only if the bolt is in a positively locked or unlocked position.
These locks are also available with a stainless steel hookbolt instead of a straight bolt. A hookbolt provides security by resisting the parting motion of sliding door and jamb.
When purchasing a MS1850 or and MS1950 Deadlock, choose from different faceplates, such as Flat, Radius, Radius with weatherstrip or Bevel. If selecting a Bevel faceplate, specifying handing style will be necessary.
