The PDQ KV125BK is a Commercial Grade Single Sided Deadbolt with a Blank Plate on the outside. The PDQ KV125 BK single sided deadbolt comes with a thumbturn on the inside. Locking and unlocking is as simple as turning the thumbturn. The PDQ KV Series deadbolt are ideal for Light Commercial Installations, Low Security Applications and Residential Applications.

The single sided deadbolt with a blank plate outside can be installed in hotels with adjoining rooms. Adjoining rooms in hotels provide convenience when occupied by friends and family, but should also provide security when occupied by different parties. Generally, adjoining hotel rooms have two doors setup in a single frame with each door opening inside. Having two doors allows less noise to transmit. For security a single sided deadbolt with a blank plate outside, like this PDQ KV125BK, is installed on each door. The blank plates face the other door. Now occupants of both rooms will have to unlock the door by turning the thumbturn.

If the adjoining hotel rooms have only a single door seperating them, then a deadbolt without a blank plate on the outside, like the PDQ KV125 can be installed on either side of the door.
