The Von Duprin QEL35AEO-F is a grade 1, fire rated, narrow stile rim exit device featuring quiet electric latch retraction. The quiet electric latch retraction feature allows the Von Duprin QEL35A fire exit device to be used in places where low operational noise is desired such as hospitals, libraries, museums and theaters. One great use of an exit device with quiet electric latch retraction is that it can be combined with an access control system and a card reader to momentarily unlatch the exit device for authorized users. The quiet electric latch retraction (QEL) feature can also be configured to retract the latchbolt for extended time periods, similar to what dogging does. This, thus saves time and effort which would have been otherwise spent on physically going to the door to manually dog the door.
